Secretary - Ana Garcia Castillo
I am Ana and it is my pleasure to be the new Secretary of G.T.D. Bernoulli. I am currently finishing my BSc in Chemistry, together with a pre-MSc in Chemical Engineering. I am hoping to finish that this year and start my MSc in Chemical Engineering officially next year!
As you can tell by my name, I am not Dutch, so I will spend most of my year getting used to the Dutch traditions as well as the customs of my fellow Dutch board members. So far, so good, therefore I hope to continue to enjoy this wonderful year, and continue to learn about their traditions and habits. I will make it a part of my job to also teach them a bit more about my culture and my customs.
As Secretary, I will have the job of recording the minutes of the board meetings, as well as the ones for the GMMs. For this, I will continue to develop my quick-typing skills, as well as improve on my listening and my attention to meetings. I will also be in charge of checking the e-mail, and keeping the rest of the board up-to-date with the news that we receive. Not only this, but I will also make sure to subscribe all the new members into the association by collecting their SEPA forms and adding them to the system. This will be very useful when I need to reach all current members in the monthly members email, in which I will provide an overview of the events of the month, and a quick preview of what is to come in the following month.
I will also be in charge of adding the to-be-organized events to the G.T.D. Bernoulli website. Therefore, if you would like to join the association or join an event, it is me you have to contact!
The majority of the links with other associations will occur via email, so I will be the main mean of communication between us and the fellow boards of the FSE and other faculties. This will allow us to keep in touch with them and hopefully organize things together.
There are also smaller tasks that I will be in charge of, such as keeping the Calendar updated, so that the rest of the Board is nicely organized; reminding them to do the tasks assigned during our meetings; and making sure the minutes are read and followed. Of course, I will be there for when the other members need help, and I know I can count on them for whenever I need help, too.
If you would like to join our association, join activities, or become a part of a committee, feel free to send me an email or a text!
