Chairman - Bianca Pop

Function description

As chairman your main task is to lead the board and make sure that board tasks are performed well. You are the one who prepares the agenda to highlight what must be discussed during a Board meeting. All General Members Meetings, which are organised four times a year, are led by you. In addition, you have contact with other chairs during the SAM meetings, discuss both BSc and MSc Vierhoek meetings and have contact with the U-raad parties. The chairman is also part of the Education Committee, to mention everything that is discussed during the Vierhoek meetings. It is also important that the chairman knows the workings of the workings of the association and the wishes of the members, so attending activities and coffee hours is certainly another important task.

About Bianca:

Hey! My name is Bianca Pop and I am 23 years old. I am from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Currently, I am doing my Masters Research in the field of Metal Organic Frameworks. In my free time, I enjoy baking and crocheting, its the best way to de-stress! I also love travelling and I try and visit as many places as possible. When in university though, the best way to de-stress is with friends over a couple beers. I am really glad to be part of the 39th board of G.T.D. Bernoulli! Looking forward to meeting you all at one of our activities which we organise throughout the year. Feel free to contact me and we can chat over a cup of coffee. I hope to see you soon!

Secretary - Shreya Vidiyala

Function description

The secretary is like the mechanic of the association; you keep the association running as smoothly as possible. Sometimes you need to do organizational maintenance, but sometimes you need to build a new system to make your job and other board's job a bit easier. You will be the first point of contact for new people who will join the association, so you get to get acquainted with many people. You will also get a chance to express your creative writing through the monthly members mailing or through the wacky emails you're going to write to the other brother or sister associations.

Through being a secretary, you will learn a lot about working systemically and figuring out the best and most efficient way to do certain tasks!

About Shreya:

Heyy! My name is Shreya, and I am from Hyderabad, India. I moved to the Netherlands for my Master's in Chemical Engineering. I am interested in renewables and green energy which is the focus of my master's thesis. I absolutely love my spices and I am an avid chai lover. As a hobby, I enjoy travelling, skating, playing badminton, and cooking warm meals. I am excited to be a part of board 39 and I am looking forward to making the most of this opportunity. I'm always down for a good conversation so hit me up whenever and let's go get a coffee!

Treasurer - Marianna Angelo Tassioula

Function description

The main task of the treasurer is to  keep an eye on the budget and to make sure that money is being spent responsibly. This means paying incoming bills as well as sending bills to the companies cooperating with G.T.D. Bernoulli. In addition to this, I am responsible for collecting fees from members for activities and consumptions.

One of the most important things to do is the bookkeeping. This ensures that during the year you have a clear overview of both the income and outcome. By keeping track of this, it is easier to steer the flow of money in the right direction. This all happens in accordance with the budget approved at the General Members Meeting.  At these GMMs, the budget progress is shown and approved by the members. Additionally, there is an Audit committee which checks every month on the income and expenditure of the association.

About Marianna:

Hi! My name is Marianna and I'm part Greek and part Brazillian. Currently I'm in the second year of my Master's degree and I am doing my thesis in Catalysis. When I'm not in labs, I focus on health and fitness. I enjoy running as it helps me clear my mind. I'm really glad to be part of Bernoulli as it's a great platform for networking and socialising. Let me know if you ever want to go for a run or just grab a drink. See you soon!

Business Relations - Alessia De Gregorio

Function description

As Business Relations you represent the association to external parties like companies. Your main responsibility is to ensure that the association earns enough money to keep running. This is done by maintaining partnerships with companies and looking for new sponsorship opportunities. Additionally, you are in charge of organising career activities such as excursions, lunch/ borrel lectures and case studies. You are also a member on the advisory council for the BetaBusinessDays (BBD). Here you'll make sure the BBD board is carrying out their tasks well and give your input.

During your year as Business Relations you'll learn a bit more about how the corporate life works and create a network within the chemical industry, which will help you after graduating!

About Alessia:

Ciao! I'm Alessia and this year I'll fulfill the role of Business Relations. I'm 24 years old. I'm from Rome, Italy, but I am half Venezuelan. As I'm finishing my MSc thesis this year, I've decided to become a member of the 39th Board of Bernoulli. My hobbies include painting and drawing, cooking (more like eating), and stress cleaning the lounge. I'm looking forward to everything that's coming this year and hope to see you at our activities this year. I'm always down to meet someone over a cup of coffee or a cold beer so don't hesitate to reach out. See you soon!
