EngD Position: Impurity Reactions and Corrosion in CO₂ Streams

The University of Groningen, in collaboration with Gasunie and DNV, is offering a fully funded EngD position in Sustainable Process Design.
The project focuses on impurity reactions and corrosion in CO₂ streams for carbon capture and storage applications. The candidate will contribute to the CO2RE project by evaluating and generating data to support CO₂ quality specifications for CCS projects.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong academic results.
- Dutch language skills at minimum B2 level and excellent English.
- Knowledge of corrosion, oxidation reactions, CO₂ behaviour, and industrial chemical analysis.
- Strong analytical, practical, and communication skills.
Salary: €3,029 gross per month, plus holiday and end-of-year allowance.
